GraySail's portal
solutions can be leveraged to create and maintain databases and community
systems for varying constituent groups. The portals created foster
communication and comradery within the group, and ultimately allow the
sponsoring group or oganization to have a better relationship with the
individuals involved.
Alumni Online Communities
Colleges and universities can
take hold of alumni relations and development efforts through the use of an
Alumni Online Community (AOC). These communities give alumni a central
place to go for information coming from the school, and alumni and development
staff a single place to go for information comming from alumni.
Features of the AOC system from GraySail include:
- Profile Management - Keep personal information and professional information about your alums up to date by giving them an online interface through which to update their data. Individual alums can select which data they wish to keep private by using the hide feature.
- Alumni Search - Based on the data from the alumni profiles, designated faculty and staff as well as other AOC members can search for other alumni.
- News & Event Managment - Keep alumni up on what is happening by posting news articles and event notices. Individual alums can also post personal news and personal event notices to share with other AOC members.
- Career Management Tools - Basic job and resume posting tools allow career development staff and alumni stay networked about available jobs. The posting system collects job postings and makes them searchable to AOC members, and the resume tool allows individual alums to create resumes that are searchable by AOC members.
- Special Interest Groups - Create sub-communities for special interest groups within the entire alumni community.
Discussion forums, message boards, and chat features are available extensions to the AOC system from GraySail. In addition to the features mentioned above, the following specifications and functionality are available:
- The AOC is built using JSR168 standards, and can be integrated as a stand alone module or as a part of a larger portal solution.
- The system can be deployed for a single college or school within a large university system, or as a campus wide solution.
- The open standards that back the AOC system allow for the ability to seamless integrate with popular alumni and development data management systems such as Millenium, Raisers Edge, and more.
